Optimization and control have deep roots in various fields of applied mathematics. These mathematical foundations present the ability to establish the quality of a solution to the problem being attacked. Currently, engineering itself is changing from a collection of specialized solution approaches for specific types of problems to an approach for dealing with a broad range of applications, many of which do not fit neatly into traditional taxonomies. Formulating such problems as optimization and control problems and developing advanced solution techniques have led to innovative designs with improved performance over traditional methods.
This Special Issue focuses on new developments and real-world applications in optimization and control fields. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Algorithms
• Dynamics and Optimization of Engineering Problems
Papers submitted to this Special Issue must not have been published previously or are currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Each paper will go through a strict and thorough peer-reviewing process following the high ERA standard.
