Manuscript Topics
During the past three decades, computational biology has become an increasingly important research area in biological sciences. With the emergence of huge volumes of DNA/RNA and proteins data, it is urgent to develop various of computational methods to deal with these data. As the basic data in biological analysis, sequence analysis has been widely concerned by researchers. It is the direction of scientific researchers to design and develop a reliable mathematical description method to describe the sequence without losing the information contained in the sequence. In recent years, some mathematical descriptor about DNA/RNA and protein sequences have been developed and achieved encouraging results. To better promote the development of mathematical descriptor, we invite authors to contribute review articles and research papers on mathematical description resources and methods for all aspects of biological data studies. The special issue aims to provide an open, multidisciplinary forum for mathematical description about DNA/RNA and protein data analysis.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
New mathematical description in DNA/RNA and protein sequences
The mathematical description database or lasting database with substantial updates;
New web services or existing web services with substantial updates for DNA/RNA and protein sequence description;
The application of mathematical description in DNA/RNA and protein analysis;
New or better standalone mathematical description programs and tools;
Optimizing mathematical descriptors for DNA/RNA and protein data;
Novel epigenetic- and three-dimension feature-based descriptor for biological data
