Manuscript Topics

During the last years, there were many innovative developments in the emerging field of algorithms related to problems arising in biosciences and bioengineering which are located in the intersection of Mathematics, Biology, Medicine and Engineering. This special issue aims to promote the development of new computational algorithms, mathematical models, and efficient optimization techniques for biomedical applications. With this special issue, the hope is to stimulate further the continuing efforts for solving real-world biomedical problems with advanced theories and approaches of applied mathematics as well as to provide a good opportunity for researchers in applied mathematics, biomedical sciences, and biomedical engineering fields for discussing the current state-of-the-art knowledge in this emerging interdisciplinary research field. We are looking for high-quality papers applying for instance artificial intelligence techniques, machine learning and deep learning approaches, new medical imaging technologies, algorithms for portable and disease diagnostic and therapeutic devices, or optimization algorithms to improve healthcare systems by identifying health threats which may help to understand better population disease and risk factor distributions.

This special issue is dedicated to the presentation of new and innovative algorithms in the fields of biosciences and bioengineering. Authors are invited to submit both original research and survey papers reporting the newest results in the field of the design and analysis of algorithms in Biosciences as well as Bioengineering. There is no restriction on the length of the submitted papers.

Topics of interest include but are not be limited to:
• Design and Analysis of Algorihms in Biosciences and Bioengineering
• Mathematical Modeling of Biomedical Problems
• Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Biosciences
• Algorithms for Healthcare Monitoring Systems
• Algorithms for Prognosis and Diagnosis Systems
• Algorithms for Bioinformatics Problems
