Special Issues Guidelines
AIMS Electronics and Electrical Engineering welcomes proposals for guest-edited special issue from the experts in the specific field of research. Proposals are evaluated for their relevance to the scope and readership, feasibility and overall scientific quality. Proposals should be submitted electronically to the editorial office (ElectronEng@aimspress.org), to the attention of the Editor-in-Chief.
1. Preparing a Proposal
Guest Editors should prepare a proposal for the Special Issue and submit to the Editorial Office for their approval. The proposal should contain the following information:
• Proposed title of the issue
• Names, affiliations, CVs and list of publications related to the proposed topics about the guest editors
• An introductory paragraph to define the topic
• 5-10 keywords
• Tentative time schedule
• A list of potential invited authors
2. Soliciting papers
Guest Editors are encouraged to promote their Special Issue through distributing the Call-for-Papers in their networks. Articles are mainly invited by the guest editors. Choosing the contributors should be very selective to ensure high quality submissions. The number of submission from each Guest editor should be limited to 1, and no more than 25% of the issue's total publishd papers.
3. Submissions
All submissions will be via the online system. Authors must choose the specific special issue at the time of submission.
A special issue normally contains between five and 20 full-length articles, in addition to an Editorial written by the Guest editors.
4. The peer-review process
The reviewing is as rigorous as for regular submissions, i.e., each article needs to have two detailed and conclusive reports for possible acceptance, while a rejection takes just one report or no report. Referees with conflict of interests should be avoided. For all papers accepted by Guest editors, the Editorial Board or Editor-in-Chief will supervise them and reserve the right to give the final decision.
In cases that the authors and Guest Editors are from the same institution or close collaborators, the Editor-in-Chief or a suitable Editorial Board member will make the final decisions.
Papers will be published online in the journal immediately after acceptance and are collected on the Special Issue webpage.
5. Letters to Reviewers
Referees should be specifically asked to comment on whether
(a): Results are new and nontrivial;
(b): New ideas/techniques are introduced;
(c): Results and proofs are accurate;
(d): Paper is of interest to an appreciable number of readers;
(e): Presentation is clear and concise;
(f): All references are relevant to the manuscript in an essential way.
Guest editors' recommendations should be based on referees' specific answers to these six questions.
6. Preface/Editorial
Once all manuscripts published, the Guest Editors will be invited to write an Editorial for the Special Issue.
A Preface/Editorial from guest editors is to either reflect the life and contributions of the person in honor or summarize the recent development of the theme, and comment on the various contributions by the invited contributors in the issue.
