With the development of digital technology, digital economy has gradually become the important driving force of economic development. Digital economy is a new economic formation with data resources as the key factor of production, digital technology as the core driving force, and deep integration with the real economy. Digital economy plays an important role in the economic development of the world. In order to better understand the development of digital economy, it is crucial to account the digital economy. Satellite account is a subsidiary accounting system based on the central framework of the System of National Accounts (SNA) and some concepts are modified, which can account digital economy more effectively.

The purpose of this special issue is to explore new approaches to construct digital economy satellite account for establishing a more comprehensive accounting system, thus extending previous accounting methods and academic knowledge. We encourage submissions investigating the accounting method concerning digital economy satellite account and its application.

We welcome articles that address the construction of digital economy satellite account and its application. Preference will be shown for work that is novel, applicable, and that captures best practices as well as systemic principles of digital economy, and reflects the state of digital economy. Papers selected for this special issue will be subject to a rigorous peer review with the goal of the rapid and wide dissemination of research results, developments, and applications.
