Cities are undergoing significant transformations. As these changes continue to unfold, it becomes imperative for research to offer innovative solutions to address the multifaceted challenges that accompany urban evolution. Effective collaboration between governmental bodies, educational institutions, and corporate entities is essential in laying the groundwork for the development of smart cities.
This Special Issue aims to showcase a range of cutting-edge works that delve into the multifaceted aspects of smart cities. The list of these aspects includes, but is not limited to: IoT; Smart industry and intelligent manufacturing; Urban informatics; Big data; Mathematical modeling; Environmental protection; Numerical analysis; Data management; Cybersecurity; Analytics and artificial intelligence for smart cities; and Sustainable infrastructure.
We welcome submissions of both original research and review articles. Additionally, we encourage contributions related to the VII Ibero-American Congress of Smart Cities (ICSC-CITIES 2024), which will be included in this collection. Our hope is that this compilation of papers will serve as an inspiration for all those who are passionate about fostering the prosperity of smart cities.
