Manuscript Topics

The purpose of this special issue is to collect research results related to nonlinear dynamic behaviors in mathematical and computational science and engineering and to disseminate potential applications of tools in complex system modeling, applied mathematics, and computational mechanics communities.

With the recent development of Immersed Finite Element Method, Extended Finite Element Method, and other modeling strategies, researchers are routinely handling very complicated interactive systems with multiple scales and physical phenomena. However, as we are dealing with complicated nonlinear systems, even though not risen to complex level, with different temporal and spatial scales, we recognize the possibility of having to deal with chaotic and related unpredictability issues. To share results and ideas in Applied Mathematics, theoretical, and applied mechanics communities, we would like to propose this Special Issue “Mathematical and Computational Approaches to Nonlinear Dynamics” for AIMS Press Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering, an interdisciplinary Open Access journal.
