Manuscript Topics
In the past few years, people have witnessed accelerated Internet of Things (IoT) growth with diverse applications such as smart grid, automatic pilot, Intelligent transportation systems, environment monitoring, process control systems. Besides, millions or even billions of devices are connected mutually, which results in explosive data exchanging around us. However, due to the vulnerabilities of IoT occurred by limited-resource, cybersecurity is an everlasting open problem for the current academia and industry. For example, considering if the centralized infrastructure contains a high volume of sensitive information is compromised, the privacy demand cannot be assured. Furthermore, owing to the fragile communication channel, frequent data sharing is not secure. Several potential attacks (e.g., man-in-the-middle attack, denial-of-service attack, replay attack) maybe take place once the authentication protocol is not designed comprehensively.

To defend cyber-attacks effectively, copious researchers and practitioners have attempted to utilize and deploy some state-of-art techniques (e.g., blockchain technology, secure multi-party computation, federated learning) to alleviate the security and privacy issues mentioned above. However, as the promotion of adversary's computation power and offensive strategies, new challenges and limitations are continued to be exposed in the context of IoT. Hence, this special issue aims to bring together researchers from different disciplines and sectors to present their advanced work to strength cyber security in IoT from theory to applications.
