Manuscript Topics
Recent developments in algorithms and computational methods have led to wide applications of intelligent computing. These applications have deeply touched every aspect of our daily life. During the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, artificial intelligence helps forecast the spread of virus and develop early warning systems. Besides that, biological intelligence contributes a lot to accelerate the progress of drug design and vaccine development, which saves countless lives. Modern artificial and biological intelligence will dominate protein and gene data for its unpreceded learning capabilities to process complex data. Together with traditional machine learning algorithms, evolutionary computation and deep learning hold the promise of solving complex medical engineering problems. Knowledge engineering serves as a transfer to process knowledge source to the expert system, which involves all scientific and social aspects. This special issue welcomes contributions that report innovative research and applications leading to the advancement of artificial and biological research with the support of advanced computational methods.
