Manuscript Topics

Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you and your co-authors to submit a research or a review paper in the general area of mathematical population dynamics to be included in an open access special issue tentatively titled as "Recent Advances in Mathematical Population Dynamics" for Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering (MBE). This special issue aims at publishing timely biological and mathematical findings in novel mathematical population models. In particular, MBE seeks to publish timely papers dealing with recent advances in mathematical population dynamics. Mathematical biology, a relatively young branch of applied mathematics, has beengreatly expanded in the past few decades, and mathematical models inspired by biology have led to many exciting dynamical behaviors as well as many new mathematical and numerical simulation techniques.

We hope you can accept our invitation to contribute your timely work in mathematical population dynamics to this MBE special issue. There is no page limit. All papers will be promptly and carefully refereed and selected based on the biological relevance and mathematical contribution. All accepted papers will be published with free open access. Please kindly reply to us if you intend to submit a manuscript to this special issue by September 15th, 2018. A tentative deadline of submission is November 30th, 2018.

We expect that most of the submissions come from the participants in the 6th Butler conference. Authors are encouraged to dedicate their submission to the memory of Geoffrey J. Butler and/or Herbert I. Freedman.
