Complex networks model many real-world complex systems, including communication networks, transportation networks, social networks of friends and acquaintances, and biological networks, to name a few. Last years have witnessed an increasing multidisciplinary interest in the mathematical models and applications of complex networks to all scientific disciplines, developing deep results and mathematical techniques related to graph theory, dynamical systems, stochastic processes and linear algebra that help understanding real-problems from social networks, biological, and technological systems. This special issue aims to highlight the critical role of mathematical modeling of complex systems presenting cutting-edge, original, and quality mathematical results and techniques on complex networks analysis and their applications to real-life problems.
