Manuscript Topics

It is well known that the choice of the functional setting and the availability of related optimal inequalities turn out to be fundamental steps in the study of PDEs. The cornerstone in this respect are Sobolev's inequalities and their numerous variants which allow to make the connection between phyisical problems and the mathematical models formulated in terms of PDEs. However, new progress and phenomena in applications and modeling demand for new mathematical tools and a deeper understanding as well as the quest for sharper versions of the existing theories.

This special issue will focus on recent trends on functional inequalities and related embeddings and to their application to PDEs, with a particular emphasis on limiting or critical cases, sharp version and related phenomena.
