Manuscript Topics

This special issue is on the topic of free or moving boundary problems in fluid mechanics, on lubrication theory, Hele-Saw type or Stefan type or others free or moving problems, also problems where friction (Coulomb, Tresca, Fourier...) conditions can be considered.

The aim is to present recent progresses in this field of free or boundary problems in fluid mechanics and its various applications in Mechanics and Engineering Sciences. We expect contributions concerning the study of mathematical models which describe the phenomena with nonlinear boundary conditions, both in the stationary and evolutionary case. The models could be formulated in three-dimensional domains or in thin domains. The study of the models involves their mathematical analysis, including existence and uniqueness of the solutions as well as their behavior with respect to time, to the data and parameters. It also concerns the numerical analysis of the corresponding problems, including error estimates, numerical simulations and various applications.
