Group theory has gained its central place in Modern Algebra, playing a fundamental role in developping different research areas, spanning from Mathematics, in particular Rings and Fields theory, Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry, to Computer Science, Graph Theory, Coding Theory and Cryptography, but also to Chemistry, Biology, Crystalography, Quantum Mechanics, etc.

The theory is in a continuous development not only from the theoretical point of view (new generalizations as hypergroups and multigroups have been already introduced and established as independent research areas), but also from an applicative one. Nowadays the theory is flourishing for its wide range of applications.

The scope of this Special Issue is to collect original and high quality research papers on topics related with theoretical and applicative aspects of group theory, multigroup theory, hypergroup theory, and their connections with graph theory, number theory, matroids theory, coding theory and cryptography, model theory, algebraic geometry, etc.
