Manuscript Topics

You are invited to submit your latest research in the area of scheduling theory and practice to this Special Issue. We are looking for innovative advanced approaches for solving scheduling problems or interesting applications in the scheduling area exactly or approximately. High-quality papers are solicited to address both theoretical and practical scheduling aspects. Submissions are welcome both for new approaches for traditional scheduling and planning problems as well as new applications. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, single-criterion and multi-criteria scheduling problems with additional constraints such as e.g. setup times/costs, precedence constraints, batching/lot sizing, resource constraints, as well as scheduling algorithms for problems arising in emerging applications, such as Industry 4.0 and 5.0, transport, engineering, and energy management. In particular, scheduling algorithms for the minimization of waste production or carbon emissions and other industrial applications of scheduling approaches for sustainable manufacturing are of interest.
