Manuscript Topics
Modeling interfacial structures and dynamics is of great importance in many applications such as biology, physics, and materials science. Many existing computational models have been developed in the past several decades addressing the key scientific challenges in the interfacial problems. This special issue seeks to highlight recent advances in numerical analysis and scientific computing arising from differential applications and envisage future challenges of the interfacial problems. It will cover a broad range of mathematical modeling approaches of interfacial problems including but not limited to level set method, phase field method, front-tracking method, and the associated numerical methods such as spectral methods, finite difference methods, finite elements methods, with possible applications in materials science, biophysics, cell biology and life science.
