Manuscript Topics
Introduction: The increasing complexity of modern systems and processes has led to a growing demand for advanced information technologies capable of effectively managing, analysing, and enhancing decision-making in dynamic environments. The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science have introduced powerful tools to address these challenges, enabling greater automation, adaptability, and intelligence across diverse domains. This special issue is dedicated to exploring the latest developments in information technologies for the intellectualization of complex processes, focusing on four key areas: data-driven modelling, information extraction, information fusion, and information resilience. While submissions covering these topics are particularly encouraged, contributions in other relevant areas are also welcomed.
Additionally, this special issue is associated with the 30th International Conference on Automation and Computing (ICAC 2025), which will take place in Loughborough, UK, from August 27 to 29, 2025. The conference will showcase the latest advancements in information technologies and their applications in complex systems and processes, aligning with the themes of this special issue. The most outstanding papers presented at ICAC 2025 will be invited to submit an extended version of their work for consideration in AIMS Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
Scope: This special issue aims to present cutting-edge research and practical innovations in information technologies designed to enhance the intellectualization of complex processes. We welcome contributions that address theoretical developments, methodological advancements, and application-driven insights related to the following areas:
• Data-Driven Modelling
• Information Extraction
• Information Fusion
• Information Resilience
This special issue is aimed at researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, automation, and digital transformation. We encourage submissions from academia, industry, and interdisciplinary collaborations that introduce novel methodologies, empirical findings, and real-world applications.
