Manuscript Topics

The Calculus of Variations has always been a privileged approach for classical mechanics since the prominent collaboration between L. Euler and J.L. Lagrange. This method now has become essential to many other disciplines in science, engineering, economics, and medicine.

The present Special Issue invites researchers to submit original works as well as review articles on Calculus of Variations and its applications on nonlinear PDEs. The aims of this Special Issue is to pursue an exchange of questions and ideas covering (but are not limited to) the following topics of interest:

• variational methods
• critical point theory
• existence and regularity of critical points
• nonlinear PDEs
• geometry of manifolds
• geometric measure theory
• minimization for variational integrals
• functional inequalities
