Manuscript Topics
Emotion refers to positive or negative reactions to particular situation and environment. It consists of physiological, hormonal changes and accompanying behaviors, leading to guide the evolution of our brain. Recent research have made remarkable progress in understanding how emotional behaviors are molecular encoded in the brain in several directions, with one focus on the novel neural circuitry underlying negative emotions such as fear, anger or aggression. Another focus of research on molecular aspect of emotional behaviors is associated with understanding abnormal and maladaptive kinds of emotion regulations such as stress or pain, accompanying some disease or health impairments.
This Special Issue of AIMs Molecular Science aims to update our knowledge of these lines of study, providing new data that advance our understanding of molecular evidence for emotional behaviors.
Keywords: emotion; molecular mechanism; fear; anger; aggression; stress; pain; neural circuit; homeostasis
