Manuscript Topics

The aim of this Special Issue is to collect and announce the recent trends and developments in the    theory of differential equations and its applications to Biological Systems and Biomechanics. Specifically, topics related to deterministic and stochastic differential equations that describe physical and biological processes are covered by this Special Issue. In view of this wide spectrum of interests, papers that deal with theoretical aspects as regularity, existence, uniqueness as well as both analytic and numerical methods for the analysis of solutions will be considered.

Moreover, the study of qualitative properties — as stability problems, oscillation criteria, asymptotic behavior — of the differential equations related to the evolution of biological and biophysical models will be of interest. In this context, also regularity and existence results could be useful for a deep analysis of several phenomena. In particular, all of the studies performed in the framework of function spaces with variable exponents are welcome. In fact, it is known that the studies of such function spaces were originally motivated by their applications to electrorheological fluids. These are fluids whose viscosity changes when exposed to an electric field.

For the above reasons, papers dealing with issues in the contexts of both standard and non-standard techniques with possible applications to appropriate biological contexts will be considered.

The range of topics covered includes but is not restricted to:
• Mathematical models driven by differential equations;
• Physical models for complex systems;
• Biophysical, economical and social models driven by differential equations.
• Mathematical models on which symmetry assumptions are made.

In this Special Issue, we would like to invite authors to submit original research and review articles focused on the above topics. Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
