Recent advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) contributed to a wide range of applications such as speech recognition, computer vision, natural language processing, knowledge reasoning and prediction. In biophysics and healthcare studies, AI can be used to build a predictive model using various machine learning or deep learning algorithms to provide automation of decision making for disease diagnosis, therapy and patient care. Currently, there are many AI and related mathematical approaches/simulations being developed for medical and scientific applications such as biomedical imaging, radiation treatment planning, chatbot for inter-professional education, molecular medicine, nanotechnology, genomics, and healthcare. These studies are usually based on AI or mathematical model linked to a knowledge base for problem solving and classification. In this special issue, we would like to invite authors to submit their original manuscript or review regarding AI, mathematical modeling and simulation on medical biophysics research. Both theoretical works such as developing a decision-making system for medical biophysics application and experimental works such as recognition in diagnostic imaging or design of drug/drug carriers using AI/mathematical model are welcome. Through this special issue, we would like to demonstrate these timely computing techniques in medical biophysics applications.

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed before their acceptance for publication.
