Manuscript Topics
Recently the interplay between biosciences and theoretical sciences has allowed the origin of new research fields. Mathematics, physics, information sciences have been employed in order to model and investigate some complex phenomena occurring in biosciences. Theoretical frameworks have been developed at different levels (micro, meso, macro-scale) and the emerging phenomena resulting as the interactions between the scales have been the interest of many researchers (multi-scale modeling). Mathematical models based on differential equations, physical models based on physical principles and theories, and agent-based models have been the object of the interest of the researchers of the last and this new century.
This special issue deals with new theoretical frameworks proposed in biosciences, further developments of existing frameworks, and with the related specific models and experiments.
Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed before their acceptance for publication. Accepted articles will be published in AIMS Biophysics open access free of charge.
