Manuscript Topics
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science are undergoing fast progress. When these two frontier technologies are applied to Bioengineering, the results can improve the way we tackle global health and environmental challenges. This issue will cover a broad range of topics ranging from the development of new methods and modeling approaches using AI and Data Science, to their applications.
We invite researchers to submit original research or comprehensive review articles for consideration for publication in a Special Issue "Artificial Intelligence and Data Science applied to Bioengineering" in AIMS Bioengineering. These articles will be published in AIMS Bioengineering open access. Submitted papers should not be previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed before their acceptance for publication.
The topics to be covered by the Special Issue include, but are not restricted to, the following:
• Applications of AI and Data Science in medical diagnosis and decision-making; fundamental biology, genetics and bioengineering; or other related disciplines
• Methods to account for complex biological interactions and identify patterns from data
• Biological and biomedical data analysis methods
• Construction of predictive models in biology and biomedicine
• Biomarker discovery
• Construction and analysis of genetic regulatory networks
• Automated biomedical imaging and image analysis
• Inferring relevant information from wearable devices
