Recent advancement in Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, etc. has introduced new features and capabilities to further enhance manufacturing systems and processes. While the features and capabilities may be application specific, their performance ultimately depends on the mathematics running in the background. This special issue intends to provide a focused collection of mathematical techniques, algorithms, models, as well as their effective implementation that has contributed to advancing the state-of-the-knowledge in manufacturing.
