The introduction of advanced transportation and mobility systems into current roadway environments makes it possible to handle large amounts of various data that can be used for effective development. Moreover, the rapid development and application of Big-data with data mining and computer-based learning techniques have been considered as an important part with transportation and mobility systems because of emergence of large amounts of data in various fields of human activity that can be collected and processed.


In this context, this special issue aims to cover useful insights and applications of advanced data analytic methods in the context of transportation and mobility areas. The adaptation of data- and model-driven methods and novel theories based on scientific inferences is also welcome. The scope of the issue handles a wide variety of studies ranging from empirical research efforts to theoretical and innovative papers on analysis, design, management, operation, safety, environment, emission, case study, application of new technologies and applied science.
