Manuscript Topics

Significant advances have been made in the last decade in the field of 3D bioprinting. This printed tissue contains two parts—the cellular component and the unique bioink matrix that form the structure and shape. While 3D bioprinting cannot yet provide “organs at the push of a button,” engineers and researchers at the forefront of this new technology are making progress in optimizing printing parameters and bioink matrix components. Some of the challenges that needs to addressed are—cell mapping and sourcing for organ function, bioink recipe, vascularization of bioprinted structures, bioprinter technologies, bioprinting techniques, characterization of bioprinted structures. This issue calls for papers which will address these challenges and explore various applications in the field of regenerative medicine that can benefit from 3D bioprinting.

Authors are encouraged to submit an abstract for initial review. The guest editor will then invite a full submission, if appropriate.
