Topical Section: Health Behavior, Health Promotion and Society
One of the major public health challenges has been to develop effective strategies with a great public health impact in promoting health and healthy behaviors of individuals, communities and society as a whole. A growing number of studies show that theory- and evidence-based health promotion and behavior change actions and policies have the potential to contribute for improving the health of populations. Further research on health behavior and health promotion in diverse populations and regions is crucial to inform public health policies and strategies.
AIMS public health has included a section dedicated to "Health Behavior, Health Promotion and Society" and encourages submissions of papers related to this topic area. Contributions should be focused on barriers and facilitators for health behavior change and health promotion taking into account the individual, environmental and societal context as defined by gender, age, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, ethnicity, geography, health policies and services. Manuscripts that present qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research are welcomed, as well as theoretical, implementation and evaluation studies.
