Topical Section: Soft and Polymeric Materials
The section “Soft and Polymeric Materials” welcomes the submission of high-quality original research work focusing on properties and behavior of soft matter. This covers in particular structure and dynamics of synthetic and biological polymers but also liquid crystalline materials and colloidal systems. Relevant topics include multi-stage softening behavior, glass transition, transport properties, self-assembling and crystallization processes as well as interfacial effects in multi-component materials. Special focus is research contributing to a deeper understanding of common features of structure formation and complex relaxation dynamics in synthetic and biological polymers on multiple length scales. This includes the function of complex biological systems as well as biomimetic materials. Contributions from experiment, simulation and theory will be of interest.
