Manuscript Topics

We invite authors to contribute original research articles, comprehensive reviews or short opinion papers (of less than 4 pages not including the references) for consideration for publication in the AIMS Materials Science special issue “Materials by Design”. These articles will be open access and published free of charge. Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed before their acceptance for publication. The papers that combine mathematical, theoretical and/or computational methods with the experiment to design new materials are especially welcome. Potential topics include, but not limited to:

•  Energetic materials (synthesis, characterization, stability)
•  Hard materials (metals, ceramics, composites)
•  Soft materials (colloids, gels, foams, polymers, biopolymers, composites)
•  Nano and colloidal materials
•  Smart materials
•  Biomimetics
•  Design and properties of advanced materials
•  Computational and theoretical methods used for materials design
