School of Biomedicine of the Far East Federal University (FEFU) presents the second meeting in the series of the international meetings ‘Future of Biomedicine’ (FOB) with the aim to promote collaboration among the researchers pursuing world’s top-level discovery in priority areas of modern fundamental and applied molecular biology with the promise to revolutionise healthcare in near future. Therefore topics that form four sessions of our second conference FOB-2017, taking place in spectacular setting of brand new FEFU campus on Russky island, will include fields, where translational medicine has already started to benefit from dynamic state-of-the-art research in cellular, developmental, and molecular biology, biochemistry, omics, and biotechnology.

This year FOB inaugurates a new Center for Genomic and Regenerative Medicine within the School of Biomedicine. After the opening keynote lecture by Bill Earnshaw, four sessions across the four main days will include talks by some of the top calibre scientists leading Molecular Medicine (11.09), Chromosome Structure and Function (12.09), Biomolecules and Drug Design (13.09), and Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology (14.09).

As two years ago the FOB organisers stand for the development of young scientists, and therefore a young scientist forum (FOBY) will take place to allow the promising future leaders to present their work, as well as to mix with the world’s scientific elite.

An exciting addition this time will be two satellite events – four hands-on workshops on breakthrough technologies in molecular cell biology and omics.

While being relatively compact, this meeting will be highly interdisciplinary and international (including participants from Russia, USA, UK, China, Korea, Pakistan, Mauritius, Belarus, and Japan), as we believe that wide span across the scientific and geographic areas will be key to providing the widest repertoire of competitive solutions to solve burning problems within the selected areas of focus, and therefore we want to ensure that our FOB meeting series is already becoming a hotspot on the map, and contributes to the success of future biomedicine.
