Manuscript Topics
Solar thermal energy may have much broader application beyond the scope of using concentrated solar energy for electrical power generation (CSP). There are variety of industrial processes that need thermal energy which could be directly provided by solar thermal energy. For example, thermal energy is needed in the processes in textile industry, paper mills, food processing industry, drying, water distillation, etc. With the development of solar thermal energy storage technologies, continuous supply of thermal energy using solar becomes possible. To serve the needs of researchers in solar thermal energy community and disseminate knowledge about direct use of solar thermal energy in variety of industrial processes beyond CSP, AIMS Energy would like to publish a special issue to cover the following topics:
• Review articles about solar thermal energy utilization in industrial processes other than CSP.
• Application and analysis of direct use of solar thermal energy in industries including oil and gas fracking, textile industry, paper mills, food processing, drying, etc.
• Application of solar thermal energy for clean water production.
