Manuscript Topics
The grow of human population and increasing quantity biomass origin waste products especially in industrialised and developing countries raising the question of its sustainable disposal or conversion. More stringent requirements are imposed on the landfill option and waste minimisation which turns waste management in favour of valorisation and upgrading.
The Special Issue invites Communicates, Articles, Reviews that address challenges and solutions in waste biomass thermo-chemical conversion. Thermo-chemical biomass upgrading processes include liquefaction, hydrolysis, pyrolysis, gasification and combustion. By applying those techniques a biofuels, biochemical, nutritions and functional residue materials can be obtained/recovered. Research on the characterization of obtained products as well as those on the development of characterization techniques will be also welcomed. Submissions of original papers in a broad range of research and applications on other related to the main topic are also encouraged.
