Manuscript Topics

Agri-food industrial waste management is one of the key problems which not only hinder the economic benefit of these industries but also end up to emitting greenhouse gas (GHG). The effective utilization of these wastes or co-processing of agri-food waste with other lignocellulosic biomass would mitigate GHG emission and contribute to rural development. Thermochemical or biochemical conversion of these waste with other waste streams by applying industrial symbiosis approach may enhance the economic benefit and also reduce GHG emissions. This special issue calls for papers on techno-economic and environmental issues of agri-food waste management and co-processing, and producing bioenergy and biomaterials to enhance economic benefit of agri-food industries as well as abate GHG emissions. The manuscript may report experimental results, theoretical analysis and modelling. This special issue aims to include manuscripts on the following topics, but are not limited to:

• Thermochemical and biochemical conversion of agri-food residues
• Energy crops for bioenergy and sustainable land management
• Co-processing of biomass (Hydrothermal carbonization, pyrolysis, gasification, anaerobic digestion, etc.) for biomaterials and bioenergy
• Industrial symbiosis approach towards bioeconomy
• Bioresource technology development
• Carbon cycle/carbon sequestration
• Techno-economic and environmental aspects of bioenergy and biomaterials
